Rescue Dogs

I have grown up with dogs and every single one of them has brought me endless amounts of love and happiness. I decided to give a little back to them.

I donate my time to a local dogs home by photographing and promoting their dogs. Some of them can be found below.

Please check out Bath Cats and Dogs Home if you are looking for a new family member, or any local rescue. I am always happy to help local rescues wherever I can.

Looking for a loving home

Luca arrived at Bath Cats and Dogs home in December, and how he hasn't found his forever home yet, I will never know.

The moment I saw him, he took my breath away. Such a handsome boy with a heart so incredibly soppy, he made mine completely melt.

Luca is a 5 year old Rottweiler. Playful and friendly with a love for cuddles and belly rubs, he would make a loyal companion. He can live with children but finds it difficult to socialise with other dogs so he would need to be the only pet. Which is the only reason I didn't bring him home with me! He knows lots of commands and loves his squeaky toy!

We had lots of cuddles on his photo shoot and he even shared a few kisses with me. I have to admit, I fell completely in love with this little guy.

Luca has now found his forever home.

Tess is a beautiful Lurcher. Beautiful both inside and out. She is just 4 years old. Tess came to the dogs home in sad circumstances and she finds it very difficult living in kennels. Although they look after her so very well, I hope she won't have to live there for much longer.

Tess is looking for a quiet home with someone around most of the time as she can get lonely. She is very loyal and affectionate. It may take her some time to become relaxed somewhere new but once settled, she will have so much love to give.

When I met her, I instantly fell in love with those gorgeous golden eyes of hers that gazed straight through my lens and into my heart. She was full of energy and a happy soul. I wondered why such a beautiful girl would still be looking for her forever home after over 2 years of waiting.

Tess has now found her loving home.

Harry is the most beautiful little guy with THE waggiest tail I think I have ever seen. He is a 6 year old cocker spaniel and came to the dogs home as sadly, his previous owners could no longer care for him. He adores his walks and has a lovely little character. Honestly, I could have watched him for hours, walking around with his wiggly bum and greeting me with his excitable, charming little face.

Harry is now adopted.

Dylan is just the sweetest little chap. He is 5 years old and looking for a family who have owned terriers before. We think he is a Jack Russell with some Corgi in him - Look at those lovely little ears. Isn't he just adorable.

He has a lovely little character and I'm sure he was smiling at me throughout his photo shoot. He loves his playtime and his walks and would like a nice warm bed or sofa to lie on and snuggle. There is no doubt that he would fill your hearts to the brim.

Dylan has now found his forever home.

Sian is a beautiful Collie who came to the Dogs home recently but has already has a reserve! Yay.

With her striking good looks and beautiful personality, it's no wonder.

Sian has now gone to live with her forever family.

This is Chance.

Chance is a beautiful English Bull Terrier and has been looking for his forever home for almost 6 months now. He is just 2 and a half years old. This little guy is so much fun. Honestly, I could have watched him all day goofing around, running around me with the waggiest of tails, playing and exploring. He is quite a character. He not only left a mark on my clothes from his muddy paws, but also left a mark on my heart.

Chance would like a home without any other pets, and an owner who understands that he may not want to share his toys, however this can be easily managed. He would prefer a home with no young children, although teenagers are fine.

He is one of the funniest little dogs I have photographed and he would certainly put a smile on your face and fill your heart to the brim.

Update: Chance has gone to live with his forever family.

Whiskey is such a handsome lad. He is a 6 year old Staffordshire Bull Terrier and has been looking for his forever home for 4 months since arriving at the dogs home under sad circumstances when his owner passed away.

This little fella is so much fun. He is super friendly and loves everyone he meets. He likes to jump up to say hello. Full of energy, this little man got me covered in mud on his photo shoot, but of course I didn't mind. Just watching the happiness in his sparkly little eyes while he ran was adorable. When I met him, he instantly put a smile on my face, not only because he is so very handsome but he also has a charming and funny character. He can be very goofy which makes me love him more.

Whiskey would like to be homed with adults or older children, simply because of his size and energy. He is very friendly with other dogs and would make a loyal companion.

I should also address the fact that Staffies get a bad name and sometimes you see more of this breed in a dogs home because people pass them by. It isn't the breed that is to blame, but often the owners who can bring them up to be aggressive. Please don't let his breed put you off. He is the sweetest, funniest little guy with a heart of gold.

Update Jan 16 - Whiskey has found a home!

This is beautiful Ella. Ella was found as a stray at what should be the most magical time of year - Christmas. I try not to wonder how long she had been walking the streets, scared and alone. I'm only thankful that she was found and rescued.

She is a little under weight and although I cannot believe that nobody would miss this gorgeous girl, she was never claimed. She is now looking for her forever home.

It breaks my heart with sadness that at 8 years old, she may not have a lot of time left and is looking for someone with a huge heart who can give her their love for her last couple of years. She would like a quiet home with lots of company - No small children or cats/small animals. She is still doing her assessment so we are unsure whether she can live with another dog as yet.

Ella is so very beautiful. A gentle, loyal little soul, she just wants someone to love her the way she deserves to be loved, and to share the unmatched love and kindness she has inside of her heart.

Update: Ella has found her forever home.

Meet Talulah. Talulah is looking for her forever home, and has been waiting for quite some time for a family to call her own.

She is the cutest staffy I think I have ever met. She instantly bonds with people and makes friends with every one she meets.

At 2 years old, she doesn't know how it feels to be part of a family, as she was rescued from a pound. It would mean so much to her to find a family. She doesn't like other dogs, and would like lots of company so would need someone around a lot of the time. She is very energetic and will run up to you for a cuddle. She also likes to share a kiss with you.

Honestly, if her beautiful face wasn't enough to make you fall in love with her, her beautiful little character definitely would.

Update: Talulah has been adopted!

Tova is a Husky x Malamute with a little bit of Collie in there too! I can't begin to tell you how much I fell in love with this little guy. Just look at him. He has the most beautiful eyes I have ever seen. And the cuddles he gave me - well, they melted my heart. I wanted to take him home with me right there and then.

He is just 4 years old and is looking for a forever family who understands this breed and can provide him with a very secure home. Tova is THE greatest escape artist! He enjoys the company of other dogs but would need a home with older children who have experience of larger dogs. He is very chilled out and so intelligent and has so much love to give.

Update: Tova is now living with his forever family.

Gorgeous Merlin. Where do I start?

Merlin is looking for a home, and a very special person to adopt him. Usually at this point when I post photographs of dogs, my heart is all warm and fuzzy. Sadly this time, it is breaking. Merlin is very unwell with renal failure and has been given just 6 months to live. He has already had such a tough life and it would make his world if he found a home and a family that he could finally call his own. He deserves to be spoilt and to be showered with love, and although the carers at the home love him dearly, he doesn't deserve to spend his last 6 months in kennels.

Merlin is a 7 year old Sharpei. He is a shy little boy, with a face so undeniably beautiful. You wouldn't know by looking at him that he is poorly, and he doesn't show it, particularly when out walking which he adores, so he would need an active family. He will need daily care, company and understanding. He is on a special diet and will need daily medication which he takes with his food. He also has weekly medicated baths which he seems to enjoy. He loves the company of other dogs.

I'm so very glad that I got to meet this special boy and I hope he finds a family who can make the time he has left as wonderful and happy as possible.

Update: Merlin found a loving home.

Sonia is looking for her forever home. She is a 4 year old Weimeraner and she is just beautiful.

When I met her, I instantly saw the sweetness in her eyes. She will make a loyal companion and any family would be lucky to have her. She has so very much love to give. This lovely girl can be shy when you first meet her and would like lots of company. She isn't keen on other dogs and prefers to be walked in quiet areas where she can relax. She would also need to be homed with older children.

Update: Sonia found her forever family.

This is Onyx. How can you not fall in love with those stunning blue eyes. Goodness, just look at him.

Onyx is 9 years old and is a beautiful husky who deserves so much love. If i'd have had as much space for him in my home as I did for him in my heart, I would have bought him home with me the moment that I met him. I could tell by taking one glance at him that he was special.

Onyx wanted to talk to me throughout his photo shoot, eager to run and explore. If only I knew what he was trying to say to me, but still I spoke back to him. He is very loyal to his friends and also independent. A talkative little chap, he is yet to say hello nicely to other dogs and will undergo some socialisation at the home.

I know if you meet him, you'll fall in love with him instantly.

Beautiful Onyx found a loving home.

Meet Jamie! This sweet little boy is looking for his forever home. Jamie is just a puppy at 3 months old and sadly wasn't wanted, so he is looking for a family to call his own. They think he is a Ridgeback x Staffordshire Bull Terrier, and he is just gorgeous. Look at that little face!

He is a friendly, happy little chap who likes his toys and to cuddle up on his blanket. As he is only very young, he is looking for someone to be with him most of the time and be committed to taking him to training classes.

Jamie is oozing with cuteness and would make a wonderful pet.

Update: Jamie found a home with his wonderful carer who fell in love with him.

Kai completely stole my heart the moment I saw him. You can see why.. look at those eyes and that sweet, handsome face he has. He pulled at my heart strings every time I passed him by and I would stop to say hello and give him a cuddle.

I couldn't quite believe how long he had spent in kennels. He is a soppy, loving german shepherd cross husky, one that any family would be lucky to wake up to every day.

Update: Kai found his forever family.

Meet gorgeous Timmy. Timmy is looking for his forever home. He is just 2 years old.

Sadly, Timmy is deaf, but this doesn't deter him from living life to the full. He is an energetic little boy, and when I met him, I saw just how much he loves the water! He looked adorable trying to catch the bubbles and waves that were floating on top. Just look at how beautiful he is. Those eyes and his spotty ears made me fall in love with him instantly.

As he is deaf, he would need an owner willing to train a deaf dog. He knows a few commands such as sit and wait, but can easily learn more. He loves to make friends and likes other dogs. He loves company, so he cannot be left for long periods.

Timmy truly is a wonderful little chap, so friendly and playful. He would make a loyal and loving companion.

Update: Timmy found his loving home in December 2015.

I'd like you all to meet Dirk. This gorgeous boy is looking for his forever home. Dirk is around 10 years old and was a stray who nobody claimed. I can't believe that nobody would miss him. He is now in the kennels waiting for someone to take him home and give him all the love that he deserves.

He truly is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. Not only does he look beautiful, but he also has a beautiful, gentle personality. He cannot walk too far but likes a short potter and to play with his tennis ball. He is looking for a quiet home where he can relax.

Older dogs are often overlooked, but please don't let his age put you off adopting him. He is an absolutely wonderful boy and has so much love left to give.

Update: Dirk didn't spend too much time in kennels and was adopted.

Amy was one of the first dogs I had the pleasure of photographing at the dogs home. They told me they couldn't get a good photograph of her, simply because of her energy and excitable nature.

Amy is a Lurcher x Staffordshire Bull Terrier who sadly, at just 2 years and 9 months old, has already spent 2/3 of her life in kennels. She has had a tough start to life and at just 4 months old was due to be euthanised. The thought that this little lady could have been put to sleep breaks my heart because she has so much to give to the world, which luckily, Bath Cats & Dogs Home could see too, and they rescued her - Twice.

After finding her a home, she is now back at the dogs home through sad circumstances and no fault of her own, and has been waiting for her forever family for a year and a half. Why she is still waiting, I will never know. When I met her, I instantly saw what a sweet natured, happy little girl she was.

Spending most of her young life in kennels hasn't phased her at all and she is one of the most excited little dogs I have ever photographed. Her energy is so infectious and she instantly puts a smile on your face.

Update: Soon after this photograph was published, Amy found her forever home.

Thank you to Bath Cats & Dogs Home for allowing me to photograph their beautiful dogs.
