Pet Portraits

Pet photographer bristol

Dogs and Photography are two of my most favourite things in the world and I just love to combine them and photograph your furry friends. You could say I'm the crazy dog lady - Actually, make that animal crazy. I am totally obsessed. I only have to hear someone say the word 'dog' and my ears perk up. They are instantly my friend and I'll ask for pictures of the furry canine, talk about their silly moments and laugh endlessly at the stories about the dog. If I pass one in the street, I always say hello, sometimes before I say hello to the hum (sorry!). I am happy to admit that I am 'bonkers' about dogs.

If you are reading this, chances are you are too, and would like your best friend photographed.

I love to photograph your dogs on location, and wherever your dog feels most comfortable. I will search for the perfect location for you - perhaps a golden field, a picturesque woodland, park or forest, a bright city street, a calm peaceful lake, or coastal location. There are many pretty locations around the Bristol, Gloucestershire and Bath areas for these kind of shoots. I will look for big fluffy clouds, starlit skies or dreamy sunsets and I will capture your dog amongst the worlds natural beauty. Somewhere he can run and play, dig and explore. After all, this is what he loves to do best, and there is nothing better than capturing that sparkle in their eyes, the sunlight on their soft fur and the waggiest of tails when they see something exciting.

I want to capture the silly moments, the goofy moments, the timeless memories. To me, a studio setting with a clean white background doesn't show off your dogs character and somehow they all end up looking the same. It can be unnatural and sometimes unnerving for your pet with so many studio lights and flashes. This is the reason I prefer to capture them outdoors, where they can go on an adventure. The outside world has endless possibilities for photographs. For me, it is all about your dogs natural behaviour in natural light.

Puppy Photography

In order to capture the spirit of your dog, I will take photographs of them doing their own thing, as well as shots and portraits of them looking at the camera. I may ask you to bring along a selection of toys or treats so as I can take a variety of shots.

Please don't think that your dog would be 'too naughty' or not 'obidient' enough for a photography session. Their natural behaviour is what makes them so special and it makes wonderful photographs. I have grown up with dogs and am able to interact with them however naughty they may appear. I have a few tricks up my sleeve. I will start the session by getting to know your faithful friend a little. A little bit of playtime and cuddles helps them to feel relaxed in my presence.

If you have a nervous dog, I am happy to arrange a pre-meet session prior to the day of the photoshoot, at no extra cost. After the introductions, we will start the photoshoot at the beautiful location we have decided on together. Pet Photography sessions usually last up to 2 hours, however these sessions are unrushed. Animals can be unpredictable and I will stay until I feel I have a variety of shots. Please bear in mind that the first 15 minutes will be mostly talking and getting to know you and your pet. (Lots of cuddles with your pet are involved at this stage! I enjoy these as much as your dog does).

If your dog needs to remain on a lead throughout the photoshoot, that is fine. Most of the photographs you see on my website of dogs are actually taken on lead, but with a little bit of magic, I can make this disappear. The safety of your pet is the most important thing. Do let me know if your dog is nervous or unsociable around other dogs and I will choose a place that is quiet for the photo shoot.

It is not only in the summer that I offer outdoor pet shoots - so please don't be put off by the cold, the rain or snow. Autumn/Winter colours are often magical for photographs.

Pets are family, and it is so important to capture them growing up just as we would if they were our children. Pets teach us about unconditional love, trust and loyalty. They don't judge us - they merely love us for who we are and how we love them back. They provide us with some of the happiest moments of our lives, and these moments are to be cherished.

Special moments in your life are fleeting. To capture memories of your treasured pets are priceless. We spend many hundreds of pounds on everyday things: things that don't really matter. The investment of bespoke photography is an investment in memories. That moment will never come again, and you will never remember it quite the same as on a photograph. Moments are brief but they can last forever in a photograph..

With this in mind, and I hope the reason for you being here is - you know how precious photographs are. This is why hiring a professional photographer is worth it. There is nothing quite like capturing a memory and looking at that memory every single day up on your wall. Memories that make you smile long after those moments have vanished. Memories and photographs are timeless, priceless and truly invaluable.

Senior & Remember Me Sessions

Landscape Photographer Bristol

Dogs are family. They are our best friends, and they always leave us too soon. My Senior and Remember Me sessions are dedicated to our best friends who are a little older or terminally ill, perhaps approaching the end of their time on this earth.

Although you will never forget the many memories you have made with your furry friend, it is so very important to have photographs to look back on and reminisce. Images that show their personality, their love and the bond you share. Sometimes, people forget to capture memories in the form of photographs and can often leave it too late. You will never regret having professional photographs taken of your dog. You will be able to keep them forever.

These sessions will be much like a normal pet photography session, depending on what your dog is capable of doing. If they are unable to meet me at an outdoor location, I am happy to come to them and photograph them at their home. These sessions can be very hard but although they seem like a sad occasion, and inevitably we cannot avoid talking about it, I always make these sessions positive and something to smile about. I want you to smile when you think back on your session. I want to hear your memories, the funny things that your dog does, everything about him including the ways he has filled your heart.

There will inevitably be tears, but there can also be joy, and I will capture so many memories on camera for you.

Because of the delicate situation and in some cases, the emergency status of these sessions, I will ALWAYS find a time to book you in. These sessions are also discounted.

Please message me for details and tell me a little about your furry friend.

About Your Photo Shoot

My prices reflect the quality of images that I produce for you. I invest hours of my time choosing and hand editing each and every one of your images so that you have the very best selection of memories.

All of my sessions are outdoors at a location of your choice. This could be a nearby lake, park, woodland, beach or cityscape - somewhere that means something to you. I have many pretty locations where I hold my shoots so can suggest some locations to you at the time of booking. The changing seasons can affect the location in which I shoot, and I will always recommend the location that will be visually beautiful for your session. Each session will last approx 1-2 hours.

My sessions are unrushed and relaxed. Before your shoot, you will be sent a booking form, where you can fill out some details about your pet. This helps me to learn more about them and their unique story, as well as your requirements for your session. A 50% booking fee will be taken at the time of booking to secure your space in my schedule, with the remaining fee payable on or before the day of the photo shoot. Your photo shoot will be confirmed when you send your booking form back to me via email, and I will then plan your shoot from beginning to end so as we can capture the most precious memories.

After your session, your beautiful photographs will be ready for viewing and ordering within 2 weeks at a private viewing session. I hand edit every single photograph and spend many hours compiling your images. I am known as a bit of a perfectionist! I believe that your images deserve to be beautiful and the products that I offer are chosen exclusively by me and made by professional craftsmen.

I offer three different packages dependent on your needs and an A La Carte pricing brochure for any additional products you would like to purchase.

I look forward to hearing from you and telling your story in pictures.
