Highly Commended Awards NPS - Anna-Marie Coster
June 14th 2016
I am super excited to have been awarded not one, but two highly commended awards with the National Photographic Society this month. I am honoured to be amongst some very talented photographers and some amazing images this month, and to continue to achieve awards for my wildlife photography is very exciting.
The first photograph is of a lion who you may have seen pop up on my blog many times before. He has been good to me and provided me with many stunning photographs that I have gone on to win awards for.
In all honesty, it is him that deserves the recognition because without him and that beautiful face of his, I wouldn't have that photograph. I am very passionate about big cats and do my best to help to fight to protect them and raise awareness of the declining numbers of lions in the wild and other endangered and threatened wildlife. There are many foundations whereby you can make a difference and if you are as passionate as I am, please start by having a look at how you can make a difference too.
My second photograph is of a Dhole - this one may also look familiar as it previously won Runner-Up status in the Safari Photographer of the Year Black and White competition at the beginning of this year. Two very different species, but equally as beautiful.
